EXPOSURES - Free Content

EXPOSURES is a new page on the site.  It’s a series of free PDF docs you can download that contain a number of photos with a related theme, or not.  Another issue may detail the creative process I followed to create a specific image - my initial thoughts, intentions and processing.  Or an issue may be a “how-to” on the post processing I used in Lightroom Classic/Photoshop.

And remember, all content is free!!

I’ll try and post a new issue every 6 - 8 weeks, or more frequently if the mood and time permit.

So stop by and checkout Issues 1.  And let me know your thoughts, reactions and feelings.

Lets start a conversation!!

Reworked/Repurposed Website

I’ve revamped, redesigned, reworked, rethought and done a lot of other “re” stuffing on my website.

It has a new look and feel to it.  It’s more visually and intuitively easier to view and move about.  Hopefully, it’s easier to view on a cell phone or tablet, since that’s how the majority of the world views images, art - mind you that’s in the eye of the beholder - and photography.   There are a series of Galleries with a smaller number of photographs per Gallery.   Every 4 -6 weeks, I’ll update, change, delete the current, and/or add new photos for your viewing pleasure.

Framed/unframed prints are available for any image you see on the website.  Simply note the photograph’s Gallery and caption and go to the Contact page.  Once there, fill in the form indicating the print size, framed/unframed and the rest of information.  Once I receive your order, I’ll contact you to confirm the details and set up a delivery date and/or mailing date.

If you’re a photographer - novice or otherwise - and would like some one-on-one coaching on capturing impactful photographs, or how to use Adobe Lightroom Classic/Photoshop (subscription version), please contact me.  I’d be happy to discuss your needs, goals and objectives and come up with an action plan to assist you.  My fees are very reasonable.  If you’re a local photographer, we can meet one-on-one, or we can arrange to do Zoom chats, if you prefer.

I also teach photography course at the Dundas Valley School of Art (www.dvsa.ca).  So drop by their website and check out upcoming Spring semester classes in Photography.

And if you just have a simple photography question, stop by and email me your thoughts at edward@amindseye.com.  I’ll be happy to get back to you with my answer.

Enjoy the photography!!

Introduction to Adobe Lightroom Classic Course

Hello, I’m teaching an Introduction to Introduction to Adobe Lightroom Classic (LrC) Course in the evening on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023 from 6:45pm - 9:30pm.  Each student gets detailed, step-by-step handout notes for each lesson.

The course is ideal for the amateur/hobbyist photographer looking to get the most out of their images using the image-processing software Adobe Lightroom Classic (subscription version).

You’ll learn how to import/back-up your RAW image files into LrC’s Catalog, customize the LrC’s workspace, arrange images in a series of folders/sub-folders, move and rename images and export your processed images directly to social media or email.

In the Library module, you’ll learn to import your RAW image files, create new folders/sub-folders, rename your images, move images between folders/sub-folders, apply keywords to facilitate image searches, apply quick image edits and rate/select your favourite photos to edit in the Develop module.

In the Develop module, we’ll learn how to crop, set the image White Balance (WB), use existing LrC Presets and create custom user Presets, process black & white image versions, merge multiple images into one HDR/panorama photograph, edit images directly in Photoshop and save them back into their LrC Catalog.

Participants will receive step-by-step instructions with each lesson that can be used as an excellent after-course reference.

To signup for the course click the this link, or go to www.dvsa.ca/classes.  In the Search field, enter 4A80 Introduction to Adobe Lightroom Classic; search.

Each student must have the subscription version of Lightroom Classic/Photoshop downloaded/installed on a Windows/Apple laptop computer they will use during the course.  If students want/need advice on purchasing a suitable Windows/Apple laptop computer for the course, email the Edward at edward@amindseye.com
