During the last weeks of March 2025, I came upon a series of shallow puddles in a field. On those nights, when the temperature dipped just below freezing, the water would slowly freeze forming a thin film of ice. Throughout the night, the trapped air would escape creating weird abstract shapes as the water thawed and refroze. Studying the ice, air, dirt and trapped vegetation abstractions, I became totally engrossed in capturing these ephemeral visions. Once the sun rose returning the ice to water; it would all be gone forever.
I stopped by an abandoned factory, took out my iPhone and captured some abstract images, then played with the hues.
